For our very first post we pulled two well-worn pairs
and did something simple: clean one shoe, leave the other alone, and put
them next to each other. No filters, no tricks. Just a brush, the right
cleaner and some patience.

Pair 1: Navy & White Jordan 1 Low

Leather

The toe boxes on these had gone from white to grey, and the midsoles were
carrying months of dirt. Left shoe is how it came in. Right shoe is after the
clean.

Before (left) vs. after (right). Look at that toe box.

The leather came back bright and the navy panels got their depth back.

Outsoles matter too.

Pair 2: Black & Grey Nike Dunk Low

Leather / Synthetic

These are black and grey Dunks. Believe it or not, the left shoe is supposed to
be black too. Dirt and wear faded it to a dusty grey. Same deal as the Jordans:
right shoe cleaned, left shoe untouched.

Behind the scenes

Every pair is cleaned by hand, one panel at a time.

The drying station

Rushing the dry is how good shoes get ruined, so every pair finishes on the
Sole Society Precision Air Drying System™. Twin towers. Gentle, even
airflow. Officially branded, as you can see.

Some people might call it a winter boot dryer. We call it proprietary
technology.

That’s the start. More pairs, more before & afters. Stay tuned.

Our first two pairs on the bench.
